Each year, one new food truck distinguishes itself from St. Louis's ever-expanding fleet, and in 2017 that truck is certain to be Balkan Treat Box. Chef-owner Loryn Feliciano-Nalic bakes bread in the truck’s wood-burning oven, including Bosnian somun — which she tops with cevapi (minced-beef sausages) and chicken döner — and the Neapolitan-esque crust for pide, a Turkish flatbread covered in ground beef and cheese.
